Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui is confident Gareth Bale can help fill the void left by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.

The Portugal worldwide raised a few eyebrows in the Spanish capital when he referred to Juventus as being a family after scoring his first goal in his first appearance for the Bianconeri, albeit against the club's youth team.

"No one is above Real Madrid".

The coach chose to walk away while he was on top and his surprise departure in May was followed by another, as Ronaldo joined Juventus.

Ronaldo played in a friendly in Villar Perosa - the home town of the Agnelli family, Juve's owners - last weekend, after which the Serie A side's new €100 million signing said that "this club is different, everyone is very friendly, the fans too, like a family" in what looked like a message directed back to Madrid president Florentino Perez and the Portugal captain's other critics around the Bernabeu.

"It was important to win the title and show that we are hungry to continue winning trophies and being able to play the level we want", said goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen after Barcelona saw off Sevilla in Tangier.

Modric's agent has suggested that the Croatian midfielder is open to playing for Inter Milan, amidst reports that he is set to leave Real Madrid.

"I don't think he will come, because Real Madrid still want to count on him".

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos on Tuesday issued a warning to La Liga rivals that the absence of recently departed Cristiano Ronaldo may have hit the Los Blancos hard but that will not stop the rampant juggernaut of the Champions League winners.

"It is a pity the World Cup meant we could not have players at their top version, as some have played not so much".

Courtois has travelled with Real Madrid's squad to Estonia for their Super Cup tie against Atletico on Wednesday and was expected to make his official debut.

The Spanish Super Cup was the first piece of silverware available to Barcelona but it is just an appetiser with La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey up for grabs.
