"I pray for strength I pray the family has strength going through this hard time and they should have the fans out here praying as well", Chukuma Okei said.

Some of music's biggest stars have sent their love and support to Aretha Franklin, who is reportedly "seriously ill" and hospitalised in Detroit, Michigan.

"That night, Franklin brought the house down at the Kennedy Center Honors with her incredible performance of "(You Make Me Feel) Like a Natural Woman".

It's believed she's been secretly battling cancer for some time now. She is asking for your prayers at this time. "Long live the Queen".

She was forced to deny she had pancreatic cancer in 2011, later admitting to having had a tumour removed and has previously struggled with alcoholism, obesity and a heavy smoking habit.

Beyonce and JAY-Z are keeping Aretha Franklin in their hearts. Her last live performance came on November 2nd, 2017 for the Elton John AIDS Foundation in NY; her last full concert performance was at Philadelphia's Mann Center in August 2017.

Franklin's health has been failing in recent weeks and her weight fell to 86 pounds.

Last November, she was the subject of a death hoax online but insisted she was "doing well" when she spoke up to deny the reports.

Our well wishes are with the legendary singer.

News of Aretha's condition has left fans across the world concerned.

She told a Detroit radio station back in February 2017: "I must tell you, I'm retiring this year".

"Aretha was not just an entertainer, she was also a cause activist", Lawson said. He ran the idea for the concert by Franklin last spring, and she approved-she apparently "hoped to be in the audience if not actually perform [ing]".

Franklin's last album, "A Brand New Me", released in 2017, remixed her vintage vocals with newly recorded arrangements. "That wouldn't be good either".
