Antonio Brown missed meetings, film on Monday

Pittsburgh is still without running back Le'Veon Bell who continues to holdout after getting placed on the franchise tag for the second consecutive season. In his retort, Brown said "Trade me lets find out".

When Steelers coach Mike Tomlin spoke to the media later on Tuesday, he confirmed that Brown was indeed absent on Monday. "I'm looking forward to visiting with him today and discussing that and some other things".

That tweet came after Brown was seen arguing with Steelers offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner during the team's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

It is worth noting at this point that Brown was one of very few Steelers to publicly back Bell when he did not show up to the facility prior to the team's Week 1 game, while almost the entire offensive line and front office criticized Bell in the media. I understand all that.

So, even with Tomlin's answers to the media, there are more questions than answers.

As our John Breech noted on Monday, that was not Brown's only emotional display during the game. I understand sometimes you have some negativity.

Bouchette notes that Steelers payers have off Tuesday before reporting back to the facility on Wednesday ahead of their Monday night matchup in Tampa Bay against the 2-0 Buccaneers. There is frustration associated with not playing well and not winning. "It's been a couple of instances now where you've asked me about Antonio regarding some social media-like things, I'll address that and address that very directly with him, but I will leave that between he and I". I just don't believe it's appropriate.

Tomlin said he won't comment directly on player happenings on social media, which features "gray area" and "very little accountability", but he made clear players should be held to a higher standard. We got a lot of football things to talk about, you know, performance, personnel, opportunities, challenges that the game of football presents.

The Steelers didn't have a practice on Monday, but the rest of the players on the Steelers were at the facility in team meetings. "But I'll leave that between he and I", Tomlin said.

"I'm focused on real legitimate things".
