Cristiano Ronaldo goal: Portuguese superstar opens Juventus account after 320 minutes

'I really wanted to score these first goals and I'm happy to have found the net'.

Cristiano Ronaldo notched the first two goals of his Juventus career on Sunday, scoring first in the 50th minute of Juventus' match against Sassuolo, and again in the 64th minute. It's @juventusfcen 1 - @SassuoloUS 0.

Sassuolo make a mess of clearing their lines from a corner, with the ball rebounding kindly to Ronaldo off the post for the 33-year-old to tap into an empty net.

Sassuolo mustered a fightback and did get a consolation goal through Khouma Babacar in the 90th but it was not enough to deny Ronaldo and his teammates their fourth victory in as many games.

But Ronaldo ended the wait for his first goal in the second half against Sassuolo, before adding a second effort in the 65th minute.

The five-time Ballon d'Or victor was denied a hat-trick by a fine save from Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli, while he also miss-hit a clear opportunity late on.

Juventus, chasing an eighth successive Serie A title, have 12 points, three ahead of Napoli.

Juve midfielder Douglas Costa was sent off in stoppage time after spitting at Federico Di Francesco having become involved in a running feud with the Sassuolo midfielder.
