Raheem Sterling wrapped up a 3-0 win shortly after half-time, with promoted Fulham fortunate that David Silva was the only player able to add to Sane's second-minute opener in a dominant first-half display.

Defending English Premier League Champions, Manchester City, thrashed Fulham 3-0 in their recent EPL fixture, but coach Pep Guardiola thinks they should be more clinical. "Today we had many, many clear chances to score and we need to work at scoring more".

'It's nice to get going again after the World Cup - we only got 12 days off, ' the England global said.

"I felt like I won most of my duels and I was communicating well with the rest of the team".

'I couldn't get my feet sorted at times but that will come with more match time and fitness. "They will do a lot of surprises in the Premier League so that's why I give a lot of credit to what we have done". But we started with the mindset that we needed to be on the front foot.

City begin their Champions League campaign against Olympique Lyon at the Etihad on Wednesday.

But this season, Bernardo Silva was the first one.

Jesus spurned a couple of opportunities but then did well to hold up play and set up Bernardo Silva, only for the midfielder to shoot well over.

The visitors' refused to abandon their attacking philosophy despite the obvious perils, and they also played their part in an entertaining contest with Andre Schurrle their most unsafe player and firing an effort over the crossbar before City's second. He looks about 45 but he's only about 20 or something.

"We cannot forget sometimes this kind of thing happens, he is [young] and sometimes you can be up and down at that age".

However, he started for Manchester City against Fulham and opened the cards for the Cityzens.

Saturday's meeting with City sees them match up against the side that sits second in the Premier League with 2,726 completed passes through four matches, 497 more than Fulham. It is a huge benefit for this kind of player.

"I've always said that I'd like to play for Las Palmas - my local team".

'The benefits is huge and he is not a small kid and part of his profession is win, draw and lose the game. He's a nice guy, so I don't have any bad words about him - we are here to try to help, not just him, but everybody.
