Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will be missing for "several weeks" with a thigh injury, but will remain in his role as captain when he returns to full fitness, confirmed Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino on Thursday. "I am disappointed because we are going to miss him for this game and maybe the Champions League game against Inter Milan [on September 18]".
"He's the first that regrets everything, and all that happened yesterday is not good", he said. He doesn't feel great.
Lloris was on Monday fined £50,000 ($65,000) and handed a 20-month driving ban for drink-driving.
"(We are) disappointed because we are going to miss him for maybe this game and against Inter Milan in Champions League", said Pochettino.
Alli suffered a slight muscle strain in England's Nations League defeat to Spain last weekend.
"The drop in quality below them, if there are injuries or playing Wednesday, Saturday, I think it will take its toll". He is punishing himself.
The Reds won all four of their opening Premier League matches before the recess, ensuring they now stand top of the fledgling table. Sadly, they didn't win a title, but now we try to make a step forward and win honours.
