Yes, some players will be really heartbroken to hear this, but this gun, which was introduced only in July this year, has been put to bed prematurely, v5.40 content update that Epic Games is rolling out.
Epic Games has made the decision to add the drum gun to the vault which means that it will no longer be available in the game. It features a quick and easy spray technique with a fast rate of fire that can mow down nearby enemies and even those at longer ranges.
The sad news is the as one gun arrives, another bids farewell to the game, and in this case it's the Drum Gun SMG.
If a Fortnite-themed Monopoly wasn't enough for you, Hasbro has another trick up its sleeve in the form of Fortnite Nerf Blasters.
The Drum Gun has divided the Fortnite community, much like the Compact SMG before it and the Double Pump method before that. The v5.40 update is rolling out as we speak, and with it comes the brand new Suppressed Assault Rifle weapon. Though the Sneaky Silencers was a fan-favorite LTM, it makes sense Epic is doubling down on their High Stakes event.
Are you pleased or disappointed to see that Epic Games has vaulted the Drum Gun in the patch notes for the v5.40 content update on Tuesday, September 11th?
Michael Koczwara is IGN's Weekend Web Producer who calmly agrees with the decision.
- Players in the Getaway LTM can no longer land on the van without building. The weapon offers players precision as long as they focus on trigger discipline over spraying.
Player models and items will no longer fall off the van back down to the ground at the end of a match.
There will also be storm cards, which when drawn will take up pieces of property on the board to reduce the size of the playing area, similar to how the deadly storm pushes players closer to each other in Fortnite matches. It can be found in Vending Machines, floor loot, Treasure Chests, and Supply Drops, and is also available in Epic and Legendary variants.
