Pregnant Carrie Underwood Reveals She Had 3 Past Miscarriages

She became pregnant again in the spring of 2017 and it did not work out. The country singer opened up about her fertility struggles in an interview with CBS News, saying she has had three miscarriages since the beginning of 2017.

While talking about the inspiration behind her album's name 'Cry Pretty, ' Carrie Underwood revealed that she suffered three miscarriages before her current pregnancy. And that is all right.

"We got pregnant in early 2017, and [it] didn't work out".

The 35-year-old turned to her faith to get her through, and tried to put her heartbreak down to bad timing.

Carrie, who was visibly emotional and wiped away tears during the raw new interview with the CBS morning show, then explained that she found it hard to be angry about the tragedies because she had so many blessings in her life, but told the host that she eventually became angry while praying.

Carrie revealed that creating her new album, Cry Pretty-including the lead single-has been therapeutic for her. She even notes on the title track that she's "not usually the kind to show my heart to the world". And I'm like, 'If we can never have any other kids, that's OK, because he's fantastic.' And I have this awesome life.

"Mike was away just for the evening, and I texted him, and I was like, 'I don't really want to be alone, so I'm just gonna go snuggle with [her first child] Isaiah,'" she says. "She has an incredibly supportive family and leaned on them and her closest friends to get through it all". Can I be mad? No.

"Got pregnant again, early 2018", she explained, before adding that this also "didn't work out" - another miscarriage.

"I was sobbing and just asking, 'Why on Earth do I keep getting pregnant if I can't have a kid?" Like, what is this? I'd be like, 'Let's go, ' you know? "And I feel, like, we're supposed to do that".

Underwood said on the morning news show that when she went to the doctor a couple of days later, she learned her pregnancy was just fine.

The singer told PEOPLE that the year 2017 didn't turn out how she imagined it.

Underwood already has a three-year-old son, Isiah, with her hockey player husband Mike Fisher. "She had big plans for herself and every step of the way she faced roadblocks", the source said, alluding to the many hardships Underwood faced including a scary fall past year that resulted in surgery for a broken wrist and 40 stitches on her face. "What is all of this?"' she said.

Through tears she cried, "He heard me".
