Sketchy pre-order site 'confirms' the OnePlus 6T

As Pei explained to TechRadar, ditching the headphone jack gives the company more space inside the chassis of the phone. Pei also pointed to a recent survey that showed that 59 percent of the OnePlus community owns wireless headphones.

Where do you stand on the headphone jack these days? We're not doing it for the sake of doing it and because everyone else is. The company will be all-new Type-C Bullets earphones alongside OnePlus 6T and they will be available separately for Rs 1,490 across online and offline channels.

So you have something that you can plug into your OnePlus 6T, the company is launching the Type-C Bullets, complete with a professional DAC from Ciruss Logic. The company also favours Type-C over 3.5mm jack as there is minimal loss of quality in the former option. The coolest feature about that screen, though, is that it contains a "light-sensitive fingerprint sensor under the display", which Samsung and Apple have both failed to deliver (while OnePlus affiliate Vivo has).

Having said that, we suggest you take all this information with a proverbial grain of salt as it doesn't come directly from OnePlus or from a source that has a record of revealing accurate details.

The absence of the headphone jack from the next OnePlus smartphone was confirmed by none other than OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. Like all previous OnePlus smartphones, the 6T will also not include a microSD card slot for further expansion.

"By removing the jack we've freed up more space, allowing us to put more new technology into the product".

Its 3,500 mAh battery is 200 mAh more than the OnePlus 6's battery, so users should expect a slight endurance bump. The question is, will OnePlus still receive the same backlash as the other companies that have done this? This handset's display is only 0.1 inches larger, and that much more screen estate shouldn't dent battery life that much.

Thoughts on leaving the headphone jack behind, friends?

Pei still believes the pros outweigh the cons. Referring to the "new technology", we already know that the company is planning to add an in-display fingerprint scanner in the upcoming device.
