Eminem says the reason he dissed Machine Gun Kelly was because he accused him of hindering his career and after claiming he'd been banned from his "Shade 45" radio show. Many feel that Eminem washed MGK in terms of bars, and that the latter was foolish to even respond in the first place. "In my quest to hurt him, I realized that I was hurting a lot of other people by saying it", he said. "The fact of like, every time I saw this kid - always so cool to you".
"I really did like [Tyler] ..."
However, Eminem insists that he's not interested in the "Bad Things" hitmaker's career, whilst adding fuel to the fire by saying there are "better" rappers out there than him. "The day you put out a hit's the day that Diddy admits that he put the hit out that got Pac killed". You know how many fucking rappers are better than you?
Eminem also brought up Kelly's line on Tech N9ne's song 'No Reason (The Mosh Pit Song)', in which he claimed that Eminem is "just rap and not God". Some have even taken to calling him Water Gun Kelly instead of Machine Gun Kelly, as an indicator of how ineffective they found his diss to be.
Many people believed Eminem had gone after MGK because of comments the OH rapper made about his daughter Hailie, but now Eminem has cleared up any confusion and explained exactly why he dropped the diss. Em spoke about the feud during a recent interview with Sway.
He explained: "You know you go down the wormhole of YouTube and whatever, right?" "So I see, 'Machine Gun Kelly talks about Eminem's daughter.' So I'm like, 'What the f*ck?' Then he starts doing a press run about Hailie", he remembers.
"When Tyler tweeted out the thing about "Walk on Water"-this f-king song is disgusting, I was like, 'Alright, I need to say something now because this is f-king stupid, '" the rapper recalled to Calloway. I just felt like there was a mutual respect", Em told Sway of their initial friendship". Because now you're a f*cking enemy.
