CC Sabathia is headed back to the Yankees.

The Yankees are expected to go after free agent Patrick Corbin, who might earn the largest contract of any available starter.

Sabathia will make $8 million under the terms of the new contract.

The Cleveland Indians will listen to trade packages for both Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.

"He's been a great Yankee and he has some time on the clock still". He struck out 140 and walked 51 in 153 innings pitched.

Needless to say, Cashman and Co. recognize that starting pitching is a major need fresh off a 100-win season that saw NY put up historic numbers on offense. He's the youngest of the three pitchers and has two more years of arbitration before he can become a free agent in 2021. I need to, I think, add multiple.

J.A. Happ pitches against the Rays at Yankee Stadium on August 14, 2018. I'm interested in adding more than one pitcher. It's rare that it derails deals, but we've seen it happen before.

A six-time All-Star and the 2007 AL Cy Young Award victor, Sabathia went 9-7 with a 3.65 ERA in 29 starts this year. He will return to a roster with two other starting pitchers set in Luis Severino and Masahiro Tanaka.

Cashman repeated he intends to trade pitcher Sonny Gray, just 15-16 since NY acquired him from Oakland in July 2017.

Eight days after the Boston Red Sox won their fourth World Series title in 15 seasons - compared to one in that span for New York - Cashman arrived at the annual general managers' meetings searching for pitching. NY went 100-62 and finished eight games behind the world champion Red Sox in the AL East.
