Deepika Padukone & Ranveer Singh Get Married in Lavish Ceremony

The venue was so surrounded by the prying media that the couple had to guard their Konkani wedding look with an umbrella as they made their way down from the venue to their yacht. Also, there are no official pictures out yet but ABP News, AP Images and India Today shared a few pictures and videos of Ranveer, Deepika and their family as they reached the venue by a yacht for the wedding.

Hindi film director Karan Johar, a friend of the couple, tweeted his congratulations. Nazar utar lo! (Keep the evil eye away)!

Smriti Irani posted a photo of a skeleton to say this: "When you have waited for Deep-Veer wedding pics for too longgggg".

With no guests allowed to post any photographs without the couple approving it, the media was left grasping at straws to feed a fandom thirsting for fly-on-the-wall accounts - and, in the absence of that, any titbit of information.

The real and reel life couple exchanged rings on November 12 evening, and a more "desi" touch to the celebrations came in with the mehendi function on November 13 afternoon, followed by a music-filled 'sangeet' the same evening.

"No pictures but it was love personified to see them together today. #DeepVeerKiShaadi #ranveerkishaadi #foreverlove", she wrote on the microblogging site.

Reports from various media houses have been doing rounds.

During the engagement ceremony, which also reportedly took place on Tuesday, Ranveer went down on his knees asking for Deepika's hand.

Earlier this month, Deepika's stylist Shaleen Nathani alerted social media by sharing pre-wedding festivities of "Nandi Puja" on Instagram. While Deepika is a Konkani, Ranveer belongs to a Mumbai-based Sindhi family.

The couple made a decision to hold their wedding on the same date the special film was released, back in 2013.

DeepVeer's reception in Mumbai will be held on November 28th at the Grand Hyatt hotel where everyone who's anyone is expected to be there.
