Shots Fired on Set of 6ix9ine Video with Kanye West & Nicki Minaj

On Friday morning, West assured fans of his safety, following TMZ's report that shots were fired on the set of a music video featuring the rapper.

Both West and Tekashi 6ix9ine were reportedly at a rented $80 million mansion on an exclusive street in Beverly Hills where Nicki Minaj was expected to shoot her part in the video later. "Thank you for everyone's prayers. Our family is safe and close".

Police told TMZ that they received a call about shots being fired around 10:25 p.m. local time, and a witness on-set estimated that "approximately 8 shots" were fired. Nobody was hurt in the incident. Kanye immediately left. We're told production was halted and the crew was shaken up. Updates from 6ix9ine's side said the production on the video has stopped.

That being said, it seems unreasonable for 50 Cent to expect anyone to stick around and continue filming the music video after something like that. As Pitchfork reports, this shooting comes after a previous incident in August where shots were fired whilst 6ix9ine was filming a video with 50 Cent.

The rappers were filming in Brooklyn when a auto is believed to have shown up, with one of its occupants firing off 11 shots.

Last month 6ix9ine was sentenced to four years probation and 1000 hours of community service. It was also recommended that he register as a sex offender.

In 2015, Hernandez admitted using a 13-year-old in a sexual act. The investigation is ongoing and there has been no confirmation on if the two cases are related.
