Anupam Kher plays the lead role in the film and has managed to emulate the mannerisms of our ex-PM pretty well. But I personally feel that injustice was done in "The Accidental Prime Minister". The film has earned average to poor movie reviews and to make matters worse, the audiences are searching for movie download links to watch it online!

Anupam Kher, whose latest offering The Accidental Prime Minister released in theatres despite many controversies, has a special message for the film's team and his fans.

A spokesperson of Ashoka Cinema, the other single screen where the film was stopped, said, "We have made a decision to suspend the matinee show of "The Accidental Prime Minister" from today in view of the agitations by some group". Based on a book by Sanjaya Baru of the same name, the film talks about Manmohan Singh's tenure as India's Prime Minister. He also refuted allegations that the film favoured the ruling party. Now before the film had released, it created quite a buzz with it's lead actor, Anupam Kher making tall claims about the film being a honest project with no political agenda behind it.

"We've stopped screening of the film from today, the second day after its release, apprehending (any) untoward incident after parts of a screen were torn up in a multiplex in a mall at Park Circus", Navin Chokhani, the owner of single-screen Navina Cinema, said. "The film collected Rs 4 crore nett on Saturday to take its total to 7.50 crore nett which is still good collections for two days though the trend is not that good", the report stated. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna as Sanjaya Baru.
