In the first ever episode of Game of Thrones, King Robert Baratheon goes into the crypts and lays a feather at Lyanna's grave.

On Sunday, HBO finally announced the premiere date for the final season of "Game of Thrones".

The Indian viewers will be able to watch the season 8 premiere on April 15, 2019, either on Hotstar or Star World. However, HBO has promised that each of the six episodes will be longer and could run up to 90 minutes each!

Game of Thrones' eighth and final season is almost upon us.

The premiere date was unveiled in a new teaser trailer, which aired prior to tonight's season three debut of True Detective.

In typical eerie style, the three can hear messages from dead family members Ned and Catelyn Stark as well as Lyanna Stark, Ned's sister/the mother Jon never knew.

Ned speaks to Jon Snow, reiterating that he is a Stark even if he doesn't have his name. The teaser ends as Jon and Arya took out their swords for the forthcoming slaughter. Despite having fewer installments, those episodes are reported to all be longer than an hour, with some possibly at "feature" length.

Some GoT fans are now asking HBO to reshoot the whole thing if Sansa and Arya are meant to die in the final season.

They are greeted by Sansa Stark, who told Dany, "Winterfell is yours, Your Grace". So without first ado, check out the Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer below. It's the last season so she doesn't have much time to prove she's was worth not killing off for seven whole seasons...
