'Uri: The Surgical Strike' embarks Rs 12.43 cr on Day 2

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted that the film picked up pace in the latter part of the day. Glowing word of mouth is converting into BO numbers. Uri: The Surgical Strike is an Indian action film based on the fictional 2016 Indian Army's surgical strikes on Pakistan Administered Kashmir as a retaliation for the Uri attack. Growth on Day 2 [vis-à-vis Day 1]: 51.59%. Day 3 [today] should be bigger.

Like everyone else, Union Minister Smriti Irani too seems to be impressed by Vicky Kaushal starrer- "Uri: The Surgical Strike". Friday 8.20 cr, Sat 12.43 cr. "Till the film is released, you don't have an idea if it is going to work".

Aditya Dhar's Uri has managed to surpass the collections of Vijay Ratnakar Gutte's The Accidental Prime Minister at the box office so far. While Uri: The Surgical Strike received mostly positive reviews, The Accidental Prime Minister got mixed reviews as some found it a good movie, while some others called it a propaganda film. Directed by Aditya Dhar, it also featured Yami Gautam, Kirti Kulhari, Mohit Raina and Paresh Rawal in key roles. The Vicky Kaushal-starrer movie has collected over Rs. 8.20 crore net on its opening day, while Anupam Kher's The Accidental Prime Minister had collected Rs 4.50 crore net on the first day of its release after being hit by protests and show cancellation at many movie theatres.
