AAF Drew MONSTER Ratings For CBS Opener; Beats Out NBA For Viewers

Featuring experimental rule changes and unique traits, the AAF apparently drew its fair share of viewers in its opening week.

Well, it's a professional football league founded by producer and director Charlie Ebersol and Bill Polian, the longtime general manager of the Indianapolis Colts. The Commanders defense recorded three interceptions, six sacks against the Mike Martz-led squad, and delivered this devastating hit on San Diego QB Mike Bercovici.

Hill started and had seven tackles as a starter for the Orlando Apollos.

Former Wake Forest quarterback John Wolford had a strong Alliance of American Football debut for the Arizona Hotshots on Sunday. Silvers threw an interception on his first drive.

The Hotshots added a field goal before the Stallions responded with a touchdown late in the first half. Richardson had 23 carries for 58 yards and two touchdowns for the Birmingham Iron.

The Presley touchdown came moments after a Rashad Ross 4-yard touchdown grab, as Arizona quickly turned its 19-16 lead into a 35-16 edge, and while Salt Lake later added a touchdown, it never seriously challenged the Hotshots again.

There are 8 teams in the AAF, with rosters consisting of local players. Once an National Football League season comes to an end on the first Sunday in February, fans of the spot have to go months before any college or professional games occur.
