We'd been waiting some time to EA's take on battle royale with Firestorm in Battlefield V, but we got the mode much more suddenly with surprise release of Apex Legends.
On Wednesday publisher Electronic Arts it is looking to the releases of "Apex Legends" as well as BioWare's "Anthem" to help following a hard financial quarter.
Problem is, sometimes Apex Legends won't begin searching because it says the party isn't ready.
However, you can queue up Apex Legends Solo. Most of those reporting the issue unsurprisingly seem to come from the United Kingdom, but there are plenty of people in Europe and in scattered areas over the U.S. seeing server issues.
Apex Legends ping tool was tested by making everyone silent strangers
In regards to the game's success, it's a bit unusual since the battle royale scene has been seemingly over-saturated and dominated by games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout. There will also be Apex Packs offered as rewards, for a chance to earn even more cosmetics.
While the aforementioned event doesn't indicate Epic Games feels threatened by Apex Legends, it does mean there is a sense of competition, which is great for the consumer.
Can You Play Apex Legends Solo?
The one aspect Respawn and EA haven't commented on yet is the price of the battle pass. This feature has not been confirmed, but it's likely going to be included as cross-play becomes more important, especially with next-generation looming. With "around 100 different rewards" in each battle pass, there's no doubt that frequent Apex Legends players will get their money's worth. Whether these will be wild and wacky like the Fortnite challenges sometimes can be, or simple ones that you don't need to go out of your way to do, we're not sure.
