Old photo shows "The View" host Joy Behar dressed as "African woman"

"She is just an Italian woman, with naturally curly hair in an old photo".

Surprised at Behar's appearance in the photo, former co-host Raven-Symoné jokingly asked her, "Are you my auntie?" Asked how old she was in the photo, she replied, "I was 29".

BEHAR: I was 29, it was a Halloween party. "I went as a handsome African woman". After Behar explained it was a costume, Raven-Symoné wanted to know if she had applied "tanning lotion" to her skin.

Behar then explained that the picture was taken at a Halloween party where she dressed up as a "beautiful African woman" and stressed that it was her actual hair.

In October, Today show personality Megyn Kelly was axed by NBC after she defended people wearing blackface on a segment about Halloween.

"I don't see how that is racist on Halloween", said Kelly, remarking on a cast member from Bravo's Real Housewives of NY getting into trouble for dressing up as legendary singer Diana Ross.

A video clip from an episode in 2016, dug out by The Wrap media editor Jon Levine, revealed that the co-host admitted she used makeup "that was a little bit darker than my skin". "I believe this is a time for more understanding, more love, more sensitivity and honor.Thank you for listening and for helping me listen too".

De Lesseps publicly apologized for her costume.

Messages seeking comment were not returned from Behar's agent and the ABC program.

Another added: "Megan Kelly was ripped apart and fired from her job for asking a hypothetical question about it!"

Joy Beharis coming under fire for a past Halloween costume in which she wore blackface.

Gov. Ralph Northam's shocking medical school yearbook photo of someone in blackface and another person in a Ku Klux Klan hood surfaced and, in a press conference Saturday, he admitted to wearing blackface for a dance competition.

However, she certainly has defenders.
