Sixers trade former No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz to Magic

The C's acquired him with the third pick in the draft, which they swapped to Philly for the No. 1 pick and a future first-rounder that will likely be Sacramento's and end up in the teens.

Fultz, on the other hand, will have an opportunity to revitalize his career down in Orlando, a team desperate for a point guard that has virtually no chance of making the playoffs this season, even after coming out to a hot start.

Fultz has not played since his agent announced, on November 20, that he would be out indefinitely to seek help for his ailing shoulder, and he was soon diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome. Fultz was the only player in the country to average at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists. However, Fultz hasn't played since November 19. The Magic are taking theirs.

Fultz was the consensus No. 1 pick by pundits everywhere ahead of the 2017 draft.

"We look forward to getting him in here, getting our arms around him and understanding everything that he's dealing with", Weltman said.

Fultz played in 19 games for the Sixers this season, putting up 8.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game after missing most of the 2017-18 season with his shoulder injury.

The Sixers traded Fultz to the Orlando Magic shortly before Thursday's National Basketball Association trade deadline, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Pelicans didn't find a deal for Davis, who had requested a trade and informed the team he wouldn't sign a contract extension.

He also will return to playing.

The 2019 NBA Trade Deadline is over and Anthony Davis was not traded, but there were still plenty of juicy NBA trades that took place - with several marquee players being moved.

The Toronto Raptors are getting former All-Star center Marc Gasol from Memphis. Plus, interesting Lakers rumors, including Carmelo Anthony potentially teaming up with LeBron James in LA. Ross came off the bench to make six three-pointers.
