Giroud hat-trick helps Chelsea ease into Europa quarters

Many fans have been left confused as to why UEFA chose to make such a call but as per the rules, two clubs can not play a Europa League game in the same city on the same night.

Teenager Hudson-Odoi got on the score sheet before the final whistle, using his speed to outrun the Dynamo defence on the counter and easily beat Boyko to make it five goals on the night for Chelsea. "It would be hard to play them with my history with the club".

When, moments later, the word "Arsenal" was slowly revealed on the little white slip designating Napoli's quarter-final opponents, the most common reactions would have been low groans, facepalms and that sort of slow, inwards folding motion that people make when they receive bad news.

The first quarter-final will be played between Napolli and Arsenal.

The Champions League will witness an all English quarter-final tie when Tottenham take on Manchester City, but the Europa League has not thrown up such a mix.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri believes Ruben Loftus-Cheek has what it takes to become "one of the best midfielders in Europe".

"Giroud with his experience, he needs to set the barrier very, very high which he's done", Walker told Ian Stone's Comedy Breakfast (weekdays 6.30am-10.30am).

Hudson-Odoi also continued his fine run in the competition with a fourth goal in Europe this season and while Walker thinks he will only get better, Giroud could act as the flawless role-model for him.

Speaking after his hat-trick against Dynamo Kiev, Giroud said: "I'm a competitor and I want to play every single game and to be happy on the pitch".

Olivier Giroud has warned he is not prepared to settle for a back-up role at Chelsea and the 32-year-old striker insists his fitness records remain among the best at the club. "I'm really very happy for him".
