On Saturday night, YouTube confirmed the official record, which is now set at 78 million.
BTS and Blackpink fans are reportedly at war over K-pop bragging rights. YouTube didn't immediately respond to a request for comment, but according to Variety, the video smashed the site's record for most views in the first 24 hours of release.
The music video, which features Halsey, has since received over 100 million views on the video platform.
BTS" new record is a follow-up to the group's 2018 album "Love Yourself 轉 "Tear, '" which became the first Korean-language album to top the Billboard 200 chart.
