Following the release of the first trailer for the highly-anticipated film, Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker on Friday, Disney released the first footage from their upcoming Star Wars live-action television series, The Mandalorian, on Sunday at the Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, Ill. Pedro Pascal heads up the star-studded cast, which also includes Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte. Some might say he has questionable moral character, which is in line with some of our best Westerns and some good Samurai.

Pascal's titular character is modeled after iconic bounty hunters Jango and Boba Fett from the earlier trilogies.

The Mandalorian will be available exclusively on Disney+ beginning on November 12, 2019.

Carano will reportedly be playing Cara Dune, an ex-rebel shocktrooper. "It was an incredible thing because - when Jon asked me to come and meet with him about something Star Wars".

The Mandalorian is a new stand-alone web series from the Star Wars franchise.

"The Mandalorian is a mysterious lone gunfighter on the outer reaches of the galaxy", Pascal added, according to Deadline.

"If you look throughout history, (the fall of an empire) is fun at first but it gets very complicated quickly", says writer/executive producer Jon Favreau, who developed the series with director/executive producer Dave Filoni. Weathers will be stepping into the role of Greef, who sounds like he'll be a head honcho of sorts for the galaxy's most risky bounty hunters.

The topic next turned to the inspiration behind The Mandalorian's character. (Typically they're called in for various events like Star Wars Celebration, but not to be a part of filming.) Filoni said the Stormtroopers ended up being a test audience for the crew. Greef tells him his options: "I have a bail jumper, a bail jumper, another bail jumper", he says, dropping "pucks" onto the table.

Pedro Pascal, who played Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones, will star. Created by George Lucas, the show first aired in 2008 and became an entry point into Star Wars for an entire generation, following fan-favorites like Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Padmé Amidala, while introducing major new characters like Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex.
