‘Dauntless’ Full Launch Coming May 21 to Epic Games Store, Consoles

Eager console players interested in jumping into Dauntless, a monster-hunting RPG, will have the opportunity to do so on May 21, developers Phoenix Labs announced today.

Dauntless has an official release date on PC: the game will be available starting May 21st, while the console versions will arrive in 2019.

The Mastery System - A new way for Slayers to hone their skills, earn experience, unlock achievements, and acquire new rewards. When it finally launches on PC however, it will release as an Epic Games Store exclusive.

Fight for survival on the edge of the world. Hunt Pass Season 5: Hidden Blades transforms the world of Dauntless into a Moon Blossom Festival and offers Slayers a huge variety of thematic gear to flaunt their inner ninja.

Similar to other games in the series, you head out into an open world to hunt down large beasts - called Behemoths in this game's canon - harvesting the resources from them and using these to help level up.

Alongside the base game, the proper free-to-play release will also include all the updates added during the beta as well as a number of themed and timed events that will kick off in the future. The rework also introduces a brand new "End of Hunt" screen, providing Slayers with a wealth of information, including progress made in various Mastery cards, quest rewards, Behemoth break parts earned, and more. As a reminder Dauntless is free-to-play and will support itself on a microtransaction system that leans toward cosmetics (fine for a F2P joint) and boosts (which I'm not so insane about if this system is expanded).

In the game, players are expected to work together to take down significant hunting challenges where battles against unique, devastating creatures can last anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes. Expect new expansions, adventures, deadly Behemoths and more - all on a regular basis and all free-to-play.
