Maddon reacts to Ben Zobrist's divorce news

Cubs veteran Ben Zobrist remains on a personal leave of absence from the team, and court documents filed in Chicago indicate he is getting divorced.

Ben and Julianna Zobrist were just starting their marriage, their family and their dual careers when he first joined the Rays in 2006.

Cubs World Series MVP Ben Zobrist, who has been on personal leave from the team since last week, filed a complaint early this week for legal separation from his wife, alleging she "has been guilty of inappropriate marital conduct, which rendered further cohabitation impossible", according to a report in The Tennesseean.

CubsHQ would like to wish Ben, his wife Julianna, and their three children the best as they deal with this very stressful time in their lives.

"Husband is unsure if the marriage can be salvaged", the filing says, according to the Tennessean. Marital assets for the objective of divorce proceedings in some states are determined at the date of filing.

The Zobrists, both children of preachers, were married December 17, 2005, in Iowa City, Iowa, her hometown.

After 14 years of marriage and 3 kids with Major League Baseball star Ben Zobrist, Julianna Zobrist has filed for divorce.

In addition to Blaise, the couple has a son, Zion, and another daughter, Kruse. Julianna sung "God Bless America" before Game 4 of the 2016 World Series.

When asked by reporters when he expected Zobrist to return, Maddon said he had "no indication".
