The Jeremy Kyle Show has been suspended after one of its participants died a week after appearing.

ITV released a statement stating they have "suspended both filming and broadcasting of The Jeremy Kyle Show with immediate effect in order to give it time to conduct a review of this episode of the show".

Following the tragic death of a guest, tomorrow's celebrity special episode of The Jeremy Kyle Show - featuring Danniella Westbrook and Chris Maloney - has been cancelled.

The show screens on TVNZ in New Zealand, it was not immediately clear if the United Kingdom decision will affect current screenings here. There is no word as to when the show would be back on air.

The Daily Mail reports that ITV are carrying out an investigation into the episode, which will not be broadcast.

The Jeremy Kyle Show was taken off-air indefinitely after a guest died a week after appearing on the talk show.

The change to the schedule was announced last minute on the channel today ahead of The Jeremy Kyle Show airing in its usual 9:25am slot. "In the meantime my thoughts are with the family at this time".

The show is known for its direct and feisty discussions as guests discuss personal conflicts and relationship problems in front of the studio audience.
