Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Covers Nine Movies In One Game

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga arrives on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sometime in 2020.

It's been quite a while since we've had a good Lego Star Wars game, isn't it?

Lego Star Wars was the very first Lego licensed video game, which soon started the money-making phenomenon that continues to this day. Even more exciting that the Force Awakens section of that trailer suggests they're going back to silent comedy, which was always a lot funnier than the voiced gags they've tried in later games. Then Darth Vader chops Luke's arm off (sorry, spoilers!), and Rey faces off against Kylo Ren in the snow.

Weeks ago, rumors of a new LEGO Star Wars title surfaced online.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker editor Maryann Brandon recently revealed that she was cutting part of the movie on set while it was still being shot.

If all goes as planned, LEGO Star Wars fans will have a bevy of content on their plates.

"With the Skywalker saga coming to an end, we wanted to give fans the ultimate Star Wars video game experience with all the humor and charm that is uniquely LEGO", said Douglas Reilly, vice president, Lucasfilm Games. This will of course include the upcoming final episode in the long-running film franchise, The Rise of Skywalker. Joining the cast are Naomi Ackie (Doctor Who), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings), and Keri Russell (The Americans), who will also be joined by veteran Star Wars actors Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams, who will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian. On Saturday, we got to see footage from the aforementioned Jedi: Fallen Order, which follows the adventures of padawan Cal Kestis as he navigates a galaxy where his fellow Jedi have switched from beloved heroes to hunted fugitives as a new galactic power rises.
