Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are helping Prince Philip celebrate his birthday.

William and Kate didn't miss the opportunity to bid the royal a happy birthday either, sharing a number of more recent snaps of themselves with the duke. "I found a couple of classic photographs of Grandpa and I on Christmas Day and Trooping the Colour a few years ago", she wrote.

In a separate post, Prince Harry and Meghan referred to Philip as "Grandpa" on their birthday message, with an image of Harry and the duke.

They also shared two photos, the first, a current photo of Harry, 34, and Philip smiling at each other. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a photo of Harry and Philip laughing, as well as a throwback shot of Philip dancing with Queen Elizabeth II, whom he Wednesday in 1947.

The Queen and her husband Philip will no doubt celebrate the Duke's birthday in private with their family.

The sweet birthday posts come just days after the royal family officially celebrated the Queen's birthday with the annual Trooping of the Colour parade, though the monarch's actual 93rd birthday was back in April.

Philip retired from his royal duties on 2 August 2017, at the age of 96, having completed 22,219 solo engagements since 1952.

Philip met the then Princess Elizabeth in 1934, when she was 13.

Philip is said to divide his time between the Queen's Sandringham estate and Windsor and still enjoys his favourite hobby - carriage driving.

The Queen and Philip recently welcomed a new great-grandchild - their eighth - with the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
