Taylor hosted a live stream on Instagram on Thursday afternoon (June 13) in which she revealed that the album will be released on August 23. " Swifties were absolutely thrilled to receive any form of new Swift music, but with all the hype leading up to the release date, fans were expecting a full album, not just a single".

As we wrote, Joe Alwyn's girlfriend and former nemesis Katy Perry are finally at "peace" with each other after the Roar musician suggested on IG that Swift sent her a plate of delicious chocolate chip cookies with "Peace At Last" written in frosting.

The singer dressed in a blue linen shirt and her signature red lip to announce her new single that will premiere on Thursday at midnight titled, You Need to Calm Down.

The album will have 18 tracks, she added, saying, "That's more than I've had on an album before".

"She's heard the new album, and the collab is inspired by the album", Swift added.

"So, I have some stuff I wanted to talk to you about", Swift began her live video. The song itself is bright and bubbly, while fans speculated the butterfly-filled music video symbolized the retirement of Swift's dark "Reputation"-era snake imagery". Because the video is very worth the wait. "I think it just looks at these things with a very romantic gaze". I think you can find romance in loneliness or sadness or going through conflict or dealing with things in your life.

"In the ME! music video there were a lot of foreshadowing clues."

Lover will be released in four deluxe versions, each containing different music.

That's not all! Stella McCartney will be collaborating with Swift. "Say it in the street, that's a knockout / but you say it in a tweet, that's a cop out / and I'm just like hey / are you okay".

"August is the eighth month of the year".

The song simultaneously calls out mean keyboard warriors and acts as a Pride anthem - just in time for Pride Month.
