Developed by Next Level Games, it's the first installment in the series to appear on the Nintendo Switch and certainly seems to take advantage of the system's power.
Shout out to the marketing department at Nintendo, because Luigi's Mansion 3 has the flawless release date.
Nintendo changed that today, finally announcing a release date for Luigi's Mansion 3.
The Luigi's Mansion series has enjoyed something of a cult following ever since the first game released as a launch title for the GameCube way back in 2001.
If you want to hear more about Luigi's Mansion 3 or watch some hands-on gameplay footage, check out our E3 preview.
As of right now, Luigi's Mansion 3 is still a Nintendo Switch exclusive, meaning it won't be coming to Nintendo 3DS like its predecessors Luigi's Mansion and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Players will also have the ability to play as, er, "Gooigi", a Luigi clone made of, well, goo.
When Luigi's friends go missing on vacation, it's up to our reluctant hero to save them from the ghosts in the Last Resort hotel! The Poltergust G-00 has new features that you and Luigi can employ in your ghost-busting adventure.
For even more multiplayer action, don't miss the Tower of Chaos mode, where you have to complete various goals before time runs out. While the game was likely due to come out this year, the vague release date always meant there was a chance it could get delayed until next year or, at the very least, not come out when the time would be ripe for a game where you chase ghosts around a hotel - like the month of October. From what footage we've seen so far, Gooigi will be vital to solving puzzles and navigating the labyrinthine hotel.
