The first look at the new adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott book Little Women shows the girl power side of the March sisters.

Despite Jo's feelings about marriage and a woman's role in 1860's society, there is a clear love story involved in Little Women.

Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Meryl Streep, Timothee Chalamet, Laura Dern and more have teamed up with Lady Bird's Greta Gerwig for what promises to be the ideal Christmas Day activity this year.

"Little Women" was big news around MA this past fall, with actors in period-appropriate attire popping up around the Back Bay area and Boston Common as well as prominent Boston spots like the Fairmont Copley Plaza and Arnold Arboretum. But despite the absence of their father (Bob Odenkirk), a pastor who is being employed miles away from home, the March sisters and their mother Marmee are still able to enjoy the little things in life, like flying kites and putting on costume plays in their attic. "And they've got ambition and talent as well as just beauty". Streep's Aunt March tells Ronan's Jo, "No one makes their own way, least of all a woman". Saoirse Ronan, 25, Emma Watson, 29, Florence Pugh, 23, and Eliza Scanlen, 20, star as the March sisters - Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth - who are coming of age in America in the aftermath of the Civil War.

Back in December 2018, Emma shared the sweetest photo of her Little Women cast members and director.

Now, Gerwig and her leading ladies are leaning into that spirit.
