Ivan Perisic is on the brink of completing his move to Bayern Munich from Inter Milan after passing his medical.

"Ivan will help us immediately with his long-term experience at the global top level".

Perisic, 30, is widely considered to be Bayern's back-up option after their bid to sign Leroy Sane was derailed by the Manchester City winger's recent knee injury.

The former United target was spotted in Munich today and speaking to German newspaper Bild, he said: "Yeah, I just had the medical check-up". FC Bayern are one of the biggest clubs in Europe. "We want to try and win not only in the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal, but also in the Champions League".

Having joined in 2015, Perisic spent four years at Inter, representing the Nerazzurri on 163 occasions while scoring 40 goals and assisting a further 37 strikes.

He also helped Croatia to the 2018 World Cup final, which they lost to France.

"I am sure that Ivan will integrate quickly as he already knows the Bundesliga and Niko Kovac", added Salihamidzic.

Perisic put pen to paper on his new contract last night after completing a medical earlier on Monday.

After the departures of long-time tandem Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery at the end of last season, Bayern have been looking to replenish their attacking options.
