Nightdive Studios announced today that it is working on an enhanced edition of System Shock 2. While we don't really have any concrete details about a release window or pricing, or even platforms for that matter, the company has a history of working on remastering old games for modern systems. The studio is now working on a remake of System Shock which was a Kickstarter success back in 2016, though there have been some issues. The recent Turok and Blood remasters were down to them, for example. So, we could expect all these features to come to System Shock 2, as the developers are incredibly dedicated to the legacy of the sci-fi horror cult classic. Gut says there's a solid chance of a sneaky trailer for the game dropping during the new press conference that's being held during Gamescom, but we'll keep you posted.
System Shock 2 was a hugely influential game. Now, the Washington based development team has set its sights on the second in the System Shock franchise. It's the 20th anniversary of System Shock 2 this year, and it's getting a very special re-release.
As for what the Enhanced Edition of System Shock 2 will contain, fans can look back on the Enhanced Edition of the original System Shock for reference.
