UFC fighter Mike Perry just got his nose shattered

Perry's face was nearly unrecognisable after receiving a vicious flying knee to the face from his opponent, Vicente Luque, late in the bout at UFC Uruguay on Sunday (NZT).

Luque won the fight by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28). What's more is that Perry also had to walk out with a broken nose. When he comes back to the Octagon, he will be coming off of a loss to Luque.

To the American's credit, not only did he keep fighting but he arguably got the better of the fight's closing exchanges as time elapsed in the final round.

The third round was where the fight was decided.

It's likely Perry will be sidelined for the rest of 2019 due to the devastating injuries to his nose that he suffered in the fight.

"If you've ever been tempted to get into MMA, just take a look at what happened to Mike Perry's nose after his #UFCUruguay fight against Vicente Luque", one of the tweets read.

Before congratulating Luque in a classy post.

Per ESPN's Heidi Androl, Perry was eventually taken to a hospital for a CT scan after having trouble breathing after the fight.

Some good news did come out of UFC Uruguay for Perry however, as he and Luque received a $50,000 "Fight of the Night" bonus for their performance at the event. But it was the damage Perry sustained that saw him go viral at the conclusion of the fight. He expected to remain in Uruguay for at least a couple days.
