Google has already started testing the Play Pass subscription service. "Google Play Pass is coming soon". This seems to be the flawless timing from Google's end to officially announce the service as Apple is all set to announce new iPhones and probably new services and features for Apple Arcade today at the Apple Special Event. We'll have more details on Google Play Pass when Google shares them so stay tuned.
The existence of the Google Play Pass was first spotted by an XDA developer previous year. You will have access to millions of apps, games, movies, books, songs, and many more.
Google unveiled its new subscription service on Twitter.
While there have been reports of this service since previous year, Google started its testing period in late July 2019 and unveiled a number of details about the Play Pass. Back in March this year, Apple launched its game streaming platform called Apple Arcade featuring more than 100 games.
At that time when the screenshot was posted the subscription was priced at $4.99/month, and the subscription covered both the games and apps.
Google touts that the games and apps included in Play Pass will be free of ads and have their in-app purchases unlocked, with "hundreds of premium apps" included in the Play Pass catalog.
Google usually holds an event during October, so hopefully, the Play Pass will likely be announced there.
