Wendy's Plans to Launch Breakfast Nationwide, Trims 2019 View

You'll have another fast food breakfast option to add to your list now that Wendy's announced it will launch breakfast menus across all their restaurants.

The menu that will be introduced will include such signature items as the Breakfast Baconator, Frosty-ccino, and Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit.

That said, Wendy's does still have breakfast in about 300 select locations such as airports. "To support its expansion into breakfast, the Company and its franchisees plan to hire approximately 20,000 crew members across the country".

"Launching breakfast in our US restaurants nationwide provides incredible growth opportunities", said Todd Penegor, President and CEO of The Wendy's Company.

The burger chain said Monday that it plans to bring breakfast items across its USA restaurants in 2020. In fact, the company has trimmed its 2019 guidance due to the investment in breakfast plans.

It certainly looks like Wendy's plans to be a major player in the competition for your breakfast buck.

Breakfast foods aren't the only new additions to Wendy's menu.

Breakfast is an important meal for fast food chains.

The morning remains the only growth market for the fast-food industry, according to research group NPD. The company now expects adjusted earnings per share to decline 3.5 percent to 6.5 percent this year, after targeting an increase of about 3.5 percent to 7 percent as recently as last month. A number of new menu items - including a new $5 Giant Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, a new line of chicken sandwiches and a $5 meal deal called the Biggie Bag - helped boost first-quarter sales at North American stores open at least a year. Panera started rolling out improvements to its breakfast offerings in the spring.

This year, McDonald's added donut sticks to its morning menu, hoping to bring in even more breakfast customers.
