Titans release Cairo Santos after miserable day, reportedly bring in Cody Parkey

Tennessee's decision to part ways with Santos comes after the six-year veteran missed all four of his field-goal attempts during a Week 5 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Allen is coming off of the worst performance of his second season, but he has made significant strides from year one to year two based on his stats at the quarter mark of the 2019 season.

"It was a very painful, extremely disappointing day", Santos, 27, said per the team's official website.

With Santos gone, the team will look to find a replacement for the next few weeks. "I don't feel sorry for myself, I feel sorry for my teammates and coaches that work hard all week, including myself". According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, former Bears kicker Cody Parkey is likely to be a stopgap until Succop can return. Mariota opted to put more blame on the entire Titans offense, saying the game shouldn't have come down to field goals.

The Titans had signed Santos before the season opener after Ryan Succop was placed on injured reserve.

The last time that Parkey kicked in a game, it was the NFC Wild Card Game between the Bears and Philadelphia Eagles.
