Two Huge Matches Announced For WWE Crown Jewel

That same event will also feature a match between Braun Strowman and Tyson Fury, which is reportedly a one-off venture for the British boxer ... at least for now. Velasquez and Fury have already appeared as part of storylines on WWE television to drive interest in these matches.

Fury and Wilder's first bout in December 2018 was an absolute thriller which ended in a controversial split draw, with the scorecards at 115-111 for Wilder, 114-112 for Fury, and 113-113.

WWE Crown Jewel 2019 will take place on Halloween, Thursday, October 31, from the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

"But it was laughable that Tyson Fury described himself as the heavyweight champion of the world, they need to cut that bullshit out". Velasquez knocked out Lesnar to win the UFC heavyweight title in 2010.

"This match between two larger than life athletes was ignited in a moment that captivated the entire world last Friday night at SmackDown".

The obvious problem is that Velasquez's prime never hung around long enough and was robbed from beginning with the crowning achievement of his career when he topped Lesnar at UFC 121 to win the heavyweight championship (while tearing the rotator cuff in his right shoulder in the process and missing the next 13 months).

With his signing, Velasquez joins the likes of Lesnar and Ronda Rousey as former UFC champions on the WWE roster.

"This is definitely my focus", Velasquez told ESPN last week.

Velasquez, the two-time UFC heavyweight champion whose never-ending streak of injuries prevented him from fulfilling his potential as the greatest fighter the division has ever seen, will officially never get that chance. I thanked him and the company for everything that they did.
